CYRIL

Cyril is a French artist born in the summer of 1986 who has been residing in London since 2009. He spends most of his time in his studio, which, just like his artist name, is called after a "Cure" fan reference: "Cure Toujours."

Cure Toujours was opened by Cyril in 2019 as a screen printing business. With his qualifications as a certified industrial screen printer and over 20 years of experience, he mixes his lifetime of artistic influences to create designs and prints for record labels, independent bands, tattoo artists, and many more.

In January 2022, wanting to shift his focus from screen printing and yearning to return to his first love, Cyril began a series of mixed media paintings. Although they were exciting at first, they did not fully capture what the artist had in mind.

His true desire had always been to paint with oil on large linen canvases, and it wasn't long before he started spending all his time and savings on this pursuit. Teaching himself to stretch and prime his own supports, large and heavy deep-edge canvases became his catharsis, a way to express his brightest and darkest thoughts.
